In Ontario, booster seats are required for children under the age of eight, weighing more than 18 kg but less than 36 kg (40-80 lbs) and who stand less than 145 cm (4 feet 9 inches) tall. In BC, this law is in effect from when a child is 18 kg (40 lbs) to age nine or 145 cm tall (4'9"), whichever comes first.

Traveling with a car seat? Here’s some helpful hints:
Wee Travel rents a variety of car seats for people traveling to and from Toronto and Vancouver. If you are traveling to either of these cities give us a call and we’ll be happy to help you select the carseat that best suits your car and your child. If you’d like to take a carseat with you on your trip, here are our recommendations:
Cosco Scenera – this convertible car seat can be used rear-facing from 5-30 lbs, and forward facing from 22-40 lbs. Weighing in at around 10 lbs, this seat is lightweight and bulk-free. With a width of 17.5 inches, it fits nicely into the average airplane seat (the narrowest Air Canada seat is 17.83”).

If you’d like to wheel your carseat onto the plane, rather than carry it, you’ll want to purchase or rent a gogo kidz travelmate. Since the Scenera is one of the only carseats that isn’t compatible with the Travelmate, we suggest the Evenflo Titan. It’s basically the same size and weight, and it has a removable body pillow and head cushion that makes it ideal for smaller children.
