Wee Travel Baby Equipment Rentals (Vancouver, Victoria, Toronto) has found some great CANADIAN handmade blankets, bibs and burp cloths for the babies in your life. Thanks to Boomers Baby, you and your wee ones will look hip and stylish toting these about. The patterns are gorgeous and the blankets come in two weights - there are winter ones for the colder nights and summer ones for those hot summer nights (that we have been so lucky to have this summer in Vancouver)! Best of all, the material is organic cotton and bamboo fleece and the filling is made from a corn based material. Prices start at $40 for the blankets and $12 for burp cloths. Watch for bibs coming soon.

Wee Travel is pleased to announce the opening of our new Travel Store. We search the globe for innovative travel products that make traveling with children safer, easier and less stressful. Here’s five products we think everyone should have for their trip:
CARES Airplane Child Restraint

Why we like it: The only FAA alternative to a car seat allowed on planes. This attaches directly to the back of the airplane seat and augments the regular airplane seatbelt by restraining torso to seat and not just waist.
gogo Kidz Travelmate

Why we like it: If you need to bring a car seat on your trip, you no longer have to worry about how you’re going to carry it through the airport. This marvelous invention allows the your seat (and child) to be wheeled around the airport just as you would wheel a suitcase.
Car Seat Protector Bag

Why we like it: If you plan to send your car seat cargo, this bag has a ton of extra compartments and is water resistant and made from heavy woven nylon. Best of all, if you have a gogo Kidz Travelmate, the car seat protector bag has 2 openings at the bottom for the Travelmate wheels, and an opening at the top for the Travelmate handle, so you can wheel the seat through the airport.
Airplane Seat Covers

Why we like it: If you’re wary about letting your child lie down on the filthy airplane seat, then these disposable seat covers are for you. Just pop them over the headrest and pull them over the seat, and your seat is clean and sanitary. Made from a soft polypropylene, these seat covers can be washed and re-used.
Travel Tattoos
Why we like it: If you have a child that likes to wander, your kids and you will love these child friendly tattoos. The tattoos are customized with your phone number, so you can easily be contacted if you and your child get separated. The tats are easy to remove with the included alcohol wipe, but they will stay on in the bath so one tattoo can last you an entire vacation.

Now this is amazing. At least we at Wee Travel Baby Equipment Rentals think so. MomSpit is a no-rinse cleanser which lets you clean your little one anytime, no matter where you are - no water or sink needed. It works like magic and smells amazing. Just rub a little onto hands or face. Dirt will disappear. No rinse needed. Its antimicrobial properties leave skin clean, fresh, moisturized and smelling yummy. It comes in great scents: Fig and Green Tea; Lemon and White Tea, and there’s unscented, too. It contains no alcohol, mousses brilliantly, absorbs quickly and feels great. How can you NOT have this in your diaper bag?

As if that’s not enough, it has also been nominated for two ForeWord Magazine Book of the Year Awards and is currently 1 of 10 finalists in Travel Guides and 1 of 13 finalists in Parenting Books. Wee Travel Car Seats and Baby Equipment Rentals (Toronto, Vancouver, Victoria) loves when a Sweetnothing arrives in our inbox. This weeks’ arrival was so full of useful traveling gear, that we want to share two of them with you.
Totseats, the washable, squashable highchair means minimal luggage with maximum impact. This chair-harness safely anchors a tot of between 8 and 30 months in almost any adult chair, like an instant highchair. It squashes into a pint-sized bag and is really easy to use - simply slip it over the chair back, adjust the length, clip it firmly and watch for the sighs of contentment from everyone. It comes in a range of funky fabric designs, and can be bought online for $35 US.

The Hoppop is gorgeous diaper bag and baby seat all in one! It’s a wee bit hard to describe, so we’ll let you check it out yourself, but lets just say this is one of the most clever things we’ve come across in a long time. You can buy it from many stores in Canada and the US for $99.

If you’re planning a trip, add this Carry On Sleeping Bag by Koeka to your essentials list. This gorgeous multi-functional sleeping bag folds up inside the attached cover to form a nice soft pillow for the car, or, if you’re lucky enough to get an empty seat or two beside you on the airplane, you can pop the baby right inside the sleeping bag and use it as both a blanket and a seat cover (because we know you don’t want to have your baby sleep directly on that dirty airplane seat). Going on a picnic or to the beach? you can use it as a towel, too. It comes in a beautiful array of colours, and folds up very small. It retails for $132 CDN, and with our strong loonie, that means a few cents more for you Americans! Check it out at totsminded.com

If you’re traveling with a baby and you don’t like the idea of renting a baby bathtub, check out this Inflatable Baby Bath Spa. It’s totally compact and easy to travel with, and it inflates in minutes.
There are 4 suction caps on the base for added stability and the bath floor has ribbed sections to stop baby from slipping. It also features a hanging loop for quick drying, and an internal bath plug for quick drainage.
Sounds great, right? Yes, but for now it seems to be available only in Australia!
